Fishers Parks & Recreation strives to provide affordable, educational, and stimulating programs for everyone in our community. Residents 50 or better and nonresidents in surrounding communities are encouraged to participate in the many programs that offer opportunities to socialize, learn new skills, and improve their quality of life. Every year, Fishers Parks & Recreation hosts a free Senior Expo, where seniors and caregivers have the opportunity to meet with various businesses and organizations that provide senior services to the public. More information about the 2018 event coming soon!
Fishers Fire & Emergency Services
Fire and Emergency Services staff is available to provide a complimentary blood pressure check at any fire station when staff is not on a call.
Hamilton County Express Bus
Janus Developmental Services, Inc. operates an affordable, on demand public transit system for Hamilton County. The Hamilton County Express Bus is available to meet the transportation needs of individuals with disabilities, as well as the general public. For additional information, please call 317-773-2688.
Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheel's of Hamilton County is available to anyone who is physically or mentally unable to prepare a meal for themselves, regardless of age or income. Clients can request assistance themselves or be referred by their physician, a family member, church pastor, or hospital discharge personnel.
Morning Call Network
The Fishers Police Department manages the Morning Call Network, a telephone reassurance program for seniors in Fishers who live alone, are disabled, or homebound. The program provides seniors with a daily telephone call, letting them know that someone is checking on them and that the community cares.
