Salary Range: $21.08 - $25.29 Hourly, $38,361.00 - $46,033.00 Annually

Position Description


Within the dynamic financial and budgetary environment of the City of Fishers' Controller's Office the Business Process Coordinator is responsible for the daily management of accounts receivable and all processes associated with the timely receipt of revenue, accuracy of the accounts receivable process, reconciliation of revenue account and communication with City employees and other officials. This position is responsible for ensuring that City policy and procedures are being adhered to as it relates to accounts receivable.

The Controller's Office is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all city financial records in compliance with regulations set forth by the Indiana State Board of Accounts. Primary duties of the Controller's office include: creating an annual budget; maximizing city investment opportunities; and acting as a financial advisor to the mayor and city council.

Example of Duties


  • Process revenue daily
  • Reconciliation of revenue accounts
  • Research of inquiries made by supervisor or other City employees
  • Create Annual Budget Book for submission
  • Data analytics and report development
  • Create and submit bond disbursement payment authorization requests
  • Enter bond disbursement data
  • Census revenue data reporting
  • Create and enter data into the OpenGov Financial Transparency Portal
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers of the City
  • Provide training and education to City employees on the proper accounts payable procedures
  • Administrative activities
  • Assist finance staff with other tasks and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree; Four (4) years of experience performing high level AR functions; or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements on a year for year basis; Preferred experience with Generally Accepted Government accounting practices, customer service, and Microsoft Office; Highly proficient user in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to think analytically;  Ability to easily learn and understand specialized accounting software; High level comprehension to deal with and resolve unusual and difficult problems; Strong customer services skills to cultivate and maintain professional relationships.
