Fishers Police Department Citizen's Academy
The academy is an opportunity for the community to participate in police-style training through a 12 week course. Community members learn first-hand how the Fishers Police Department works. Training topics include criminal law, crime prevention, the K-9 program, defensive tactics, and narcotics training. The academy includes demonstrations and training as well as classroom instruction. Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Group
The Alumni Group are graduates of the Citizen's Police Academy who provide volunteer support and organize social functions for the Fishers Police Department. Contact Officer Jamie Alvis at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Fishers Police Department Explorer Academy
Open to young adults 14 to 20 years old, the Fishers Police Department Explorer Academy introduces participants to the Police Department and helps those interested in law enforcement careers to make an informed decision. Programs include crime scene investigation, traffic stops, use of police dogs, SWAT, computer crimes and more. All meetings are open to new members.
