Events Coordinator - Ambassador House

Location: Parks & Recreation Building, Fishers, Indiana
The City of Fishers is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated professional to serve as a full time Events Coordinator for the Historic Ambassador House. Responsibilities will include showing the facility to prospective clients, sales, and communication of rental rates, fees, and event logistics to clients. Position will also facilitate each event and be the primary contact for facility users. The Ambassador House has quickly become a popular setting for weddings, receptions, meetings, and other indoor and outdoor gatherings.
Examples of Duties
- Coordinate all Ambassador House event logistics
- Conduct facility tours and initiate event sales
- Provide excellent service to all event guests
- Collaborate with other City departments (Public Works, Communications, etc.)
- Maintain event records
- Evenings and weekends required
- Flexible scheduling
Valid driver's license; Bachelor's Degree; Two (2) years of experience dealing with events coordination and planning; Advanced understanding of event contracts, budgets and cost control; Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used to coordinate events; Possess strong organizational and critical thinking skills; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, co-workers, and the public; Ability to deal effectively with fast paced and sometimes stressful situations; Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.
The Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens, located in Heritage Park in Fishers is today managed and maintained in cooperation with the City of Fishers and a volunteer Board of Directors. Serving as a peaceful retreat in a natural setting, it is available to the community as an events center, public gardens, and local history site with a small collection of historic photographs, postcards, documents, and other items. Plans for its use continue to evolve and include the house and grounds as a desirable wedding and event destination as well as an instrument in the pursuit of preserving local history.
