Fishers Police Investigate Crash

February 13, 2018

Fishers, Indiana – Fishers Police is investigating an automobile crash that occurred last night on southbound I69 near the 208 mile marker.

Shortly before 6pm, The Hamilton County Dispatch Center received a call reporting that an SUV had rear ended a semi-truck.  Based on evidence at the scene and witness statements, it was determined that the crash occurred after the semi-truck slowed and then stopped due to heavy traffic.  Although the semi-truck came to a stop in congested traffic, the driver of the SUV did not slow appropriately and struck the back end of the semi-truck’s trailer.

Due to the damage to the SUV, the driver, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, had to be extricated by members of the Fishers Department of Fire and Emergency Services.  That same driver was then transported to the hospital by a medical helicopter.  At this point, his injuries are unknown.  It does not appear that drugs or alcohol contributed to this crash.
