Fishers Utilities manages more than thirty facilities throughout the community that collect, distribute, treat sewer before releasing clean, safe water back into the White River.
Wastewater Collection and Conveyance Facilities
The City of Fishers has separate sanitary and stormwater collection and conveyance systems. Residential and commercial wastewater leaves houses and buildings via the building connections to the 8-inch diameter mainline sewers running under the streets or backyards. Wastewater is conveyed through increasingly larger diameter pipes to neighborhood lift stations. From there the wastewater is conveyed to larger regional lift stations, then to the Cheeney Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility.
Wastewater Treatment Facilities
The wastewater treatment facilities feature preliminary treatment, primary sedimentation, activated sludge, nitrification, secondary clarification, disinfection and effluent re-aeration. Biosolids stabilization is via the N-Viro Soil process.
