Street Maintenance

Our street maintenance staff may be the most visible group from the Department of Public Works. This group is dedicated to maintaining all the roads, curbs, and rights-of-way throughout the city of Fishers. With over 400 centerline miles* of road, street maintenance staff are responsible for the following:

  • Asphalt road patching and repair
  • Concrete road repair
  • Crack sealing
  • City irrigation systems
  • Maintenance and mowing of some rights-of-way
  • Curb maintenance
  • Debris and roadkill removal from rights-of-way
  • Snow and ice control
  • Street signs and road markings
  • Special event support

*centerline miles is a measurement used to indicate the length of a roadway from start to finish. It does not take into consideration the number of lanes of a roadway.
