About Deputy Mayor McGrath
Leah McGrath was appointed Fishers first deputy mayor in July 2015. As Deputy Mayor of Community Development, McGrath focuses on community building and planning efforts that engage the city’s residents in key initiatives, such as Fishers 2040 plan. She works daily with city staff, as well as many of the city’s community-led groups, including the Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability, Fishers Arts & Culture Initiative, Planning Committees and Parks & Recreation.
Prior to joining the City of Fishers, McGrath worked as Government Affairs Director for the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, serving as a public policy liaison and advocate for municipal issues at the State of Indiana and Indiana General Assembly. She resides in Fishers with her husband, Brian, and their three sons Patrick, Nate & Ethan.
About Deputy Mayor Elliott Hultgren
Elliott Hultgren was appointed deputy mayor in June 2018. As Deputy Mayor of Administration, Hultgren focuses on ensuring the organization’s internal operations are meeting the needs of both the City’s residents and employees. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, he is involved in a variety of the City’s strategic initiatives and community-wide projects.
Prior to working at the City of Fishers, Hultgren spent nearly seven years as an active duty naval officer, and continues to affiliate with the Navy Reserves serving as a Lieutenant Commander. He has completed deployments to South East Asia, Iraq, and the Horn of Africa. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and received his MBA from the University of Hawaii. Hultgren lives in Fishers with his wife, Adrianne, and their four children Jamison, Lani, Sawyer, and Murphy.
