(Fishers, Indiana) – The Fishers Police Department is asking the public for information regarding an attempted strong armed robbery that occurred this morning in the Deer Brook Apartment Complex. Investigators are interested in speaking with any Deer Brook resident that may have been out doors, this morning, during the pre-dawn hours.
Shortly before 7am the victim called 911 to report an attempted strong armed robbery near the intersection of Deer Brook Drive and Falling Brook Drive. The victim was walking from his mailbox when a stranger approached him and demanded money. The suspect indicated he had a gun, but never displayed a weapon. The victim did not have any money and the suspect ran towards Allisonville Road. The victim was not harmed in this incident.
Fishers police officers quickly set a perimeter and a K-9 Unit searched the area. During the search Allisonville Meadows, a retirement facility, was placed on lock down and additional officers were assigned to Riverside Intermediate and Junior High Schools to ensure student’s safe arrival. After an extensive search officers were unable to locate the suspect. The Indiana State Police and the Carmel Police Department assisted in the search.
