June 30, 2023

Members of the Community,

This week our community experienced a tragedy with the murder of Kaylah Ann Farmer. Kaylah was the mother of three children, a daughter, and friend to many. We want to extend our sincere condolences to Kaylah’s family and friends. Our agency will continue to advocate for Kaylah and work closely with the Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to ensure justice is served for her.

The men and women of the Fishers Police Department are thankful to our residents, business owners, and neighboring law enforcement professionals for their partnership. We would like to specifically thank The Noblesville Police Department, Indiana State Police, FBI Violent Crime Task Force, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Hamilton Boone County Drug Task Force, the Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force, and the Indiana Crime Gun Task Force for assisting in the homicide investigation and capture of the murder suspect.

Our focus will be to bring resolution and justice to Kaylah’s family.  We will not be conducting interviews or additional press releases related to this case.   All inquiries about the arrest should go to the Hamilton County Prosecutors Office directly.  Our agency still has a lot of work to do to ensure justice in this case.

Sincerely,

Ed Gebhart

Chief of Police
