(Fishers, Indiana) - Shortly after 8:00am, this morning, the Hamilton County Dispatch Center received a 911 call. The caller witnessed a car drive into a retention pond near the intersection of 126th Street and Hawks Landing Drive. She also reported there were three people attempting to rescue the driver.

Fishers police officers and fire personnel were immediately dispatched. Upon their arrival they found the driver lying on the shore and the Good Samaritans performing CPR. Fishers Paramedics transported the driver to IU Saxony Hospital.

The initial investigation revealed the driver was traveling westbound on 126th Street and for some unknown reason his vehicle veered across the eastbound lanes, drove over a curb, thru a fence and came to rest partially submerged in the pond. Three Good Samaritans witnessed the crash and risked their own lives as they jumped into the water and rescued the driver.

The investigation continues and additional information will be provided when it becomes available.
