[ARCHIVED] Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash In Fishers

(Fishers, Indiana) – The Fishers Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 5:00pm, yesterday evening. The crash occurred at the intersection of 126th Street and Reynolds Drive (126th Street and State Road 37).

A short time later, officers arrived on the scene and located two vehicles and two occupants involved in the crash. The 2001Chrysler passenger car was being driven by a seventeen year-old female and the 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle was driven by a thirty-eight year old male. The motorcyclist was ejected and suffered severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver was not injured.

According to witnesses the Chrysler was attempting to make a left turn onto Reynolds Drive from westbound 126th Street. The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on 126th Street. At this time it is unclear if the vehicles collided with one another or if the motorcyclist lost control while attempting to avoid colliding with the Chrysler.

Officers assigned to the Fishers Police Department’s Crash Team were called to the scene to collect information and reconstruct the crash. The intersection was closed for two hours while officers conducted their investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
