[ARCHIVED] FPD investigates three thefts from vehicles this morning

CRIME WATCH ALERT

January 8, 2015

Fishers, (Indiana) – This morning Fishers police officers investigated three thefts from vehicles.

These incidents occurred within a couple miles of one another. The first theft occurred in the Canyon Ridge Neighborhood (141st Street and Marilyn Road) and the second in the Brooks Chase Neighborhood (131st Street and Brooks School Road). In both cases the suspect(s) entered the garage and removed property from a vehicle parked inside. One of the victims reported leaving the garage door partially open while their car warmed. It appears the suspect(s) gained entry by crawling under the partially open overhead door.

The third theft occurred in the Limestone Springs Neighborhood (136th Street and Marilyn Road). The victim reported that sometime during the overnight hours a suspect gained entry into their vehicle as it was parked on the driveway.

An alert resident notified police about a suspicious vehicle in the area around the times of these incidents. The suspicious vehicle was described as a white or silver Nissan Pathfinder (SUV) with out of state license plates.

Chief of Police George Kehl would like to remind residents to use extra caution when warming their cars. Residents should always secure unattended vehicles. Criminals only need a few seconds to gain entry into an unsecured vehicle and remove personal belongings.

Anyone with information regarding these thefts is encouraged to call the Fishers Police Department at 317-595-3300.
