[ARCHIVED] FPD Identifies Armed Robbery Suspect

Fishers, (Indiana) – Fishers Police Detectives have identified a suspect responsible for the armed robbery of the Subway Restaurant on Wednesday, June 8th.

Shortly after 9pm, on Wednesday, officers responded to the Subway Restaurant, located 9661 Olio Road (96th Street and Olio Road), after an employee reported an armed robbery. Officers established a perimeter and searched the area, however the suspect remained at large. Evidence Technicians processed the scene for evidence.

Detectives worked tirelessly to identify person(s) of interest. The investigation led Detectives to a specific individual, Jonathon Cope. Today, as Detectives attempted to locate Cope, they learned that officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department had him in custody after he fled the scene of an early morning armed robbery in Indianapolis.

Fishers Detectives anticipate formal charges, including Armed Robbery Level 3 Felony, will be filed in the near future. This continues to be an active investigation.

A charge is merely an accusation and the arrest person(s) is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
