[ARCHIVED] FPD Arrest Three Teens in Shooting Investigation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 29, 2017

            (Fishers, Indiana) – Fishers Police Chief Mitch Thompson is pleased to announce an arrest has been made in the shooting investigation that began on September 21st.

            Over the past week Fishers Police Detectives have been working tirelessly to identify and locate the person(s) responsible for shooting a man last Thursday evening. Detectives were able to identify several people that had knowledge of the shooting. On Saturday divers from the Fishers Police and Fire Department Dive Team searched a retention pond in the area of 116th Street and Hazel Dell Road where they located the gun believed to be used in this shooting. On Wednesday the Hamilton County Superior Court issued warrants for three suspects. Fishers Detectives located the suspects in Marion County. All three were placed into custody without incident.

Robbery resulting in serious bodily injury Level 2 Felony

Armed Robbery, a Level 3 Felony

Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony

Dangerous Possession of a Firearm Level 5 Felony

Intimidation, a Level 5 Felony

Pointing a Firearm at a Person Level 6 Felony

Theft, a Class “A” Misdemeanor

Carrying a Firearm without a permit, a Class “A” Misdemeanor

A charge is merely an accusation and the arrested person(s) is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

September 22, 2017

            (Fishers, Indiana) – Fishers police continue to investigate after a man was shot last evening.

Shortly after 7:00pm, The Hamilton County Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a man shot in the area of 131st Street and State Road 37. Police officers located the victim behind a business. Paramedics from The Fishers Department of Fire and Emergency Services transported the victim to an area hospital. At the time of this release, the victim remains hospitalized.

            An extensive area search was conducted however the suspect remains at large. Detectives and Evidence Technicians processed the scene and interviewed witnesses. According to a witness the suspect may have possibly fled the area in a blue passenger car. Based on the information, collected by Detectives, this incident does not appear to be random in nature. This investigation remains active and Detectives are working to determine exactly how the suspect and victim know one another. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.
