Fishers, (Indiana) – Fishers police have arrested a driver involved in a fatal crash that occurred yesterday evening near the entrance of the Rolling Knoll Neighborhood.
Shortly before 6:30pm The Hamilton County Communications Center began receiving calls regarding a serious crash on 116th Street and Belle Plaine Boulevard west of Hoosier Road. The crash involved a 2017 Honda passenger vehicle and a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle. The injured motorcyclist was transported to St. Vincent Hospital, in Indianapolis, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Honda was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Based on evidence and witness statements, the Honda was attempting to turn northbound onto Bell Plaine Boulevard from eastbound 116th Street at the time of the collision. The driver of the Honda stated that she did not see the motorcycle, traveling westbound, and was unable to avoid the crash.
While speaking with the driver of the Honda, officers observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage. The driver submitted to a Breath Alcohol Test which indicated a blood alcohol content of .15%. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
