This slow-pitch softball tournament is set to take place on Friday, September 6 through Saturday, September 7 with games taking place between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Because of the popular slow-pitch softball leagues that the Parks & Recreation Department already runs, a new tournament was developed to create variety in the adult sports programming the town offers.
The Midnight Madness Overnight Softball Tournament will be unique in the fact that teams will use a 16” Chicago Style Softball. This type of softball travels slower and at shorter distances when hit off the bat. Because of this distance change, the games will be played at the Billericay Park youth baseball fields, which are substantially smaller fields than a traditional adult softball field. Also, softball gloves are not required.
This event is sure to be fun! Participants will also be able to enjoy local food vendors on site for a portion of the night.
