(Fishers, Indiana) - The Fishers Police Department is investigating a homicide.
Shortly before 10:00pm on August 13th 2020, Fishers Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of the Best Choice Fieldhouse located at 11825 Technology Drive (116th Street and Commercial Drive). During the overnight hours, one of the victim’s medical condition worsened and he died from his injuries.
Upon their arrival, officers located two 17-year-old juveniles both suffering from injuries believed to be from a firearm. Both juveniles were transported to a local hospital. Additional officers responded and began searching for the suspect(s). After an extensive search, the investigation confirmed the suspect(s) fled the area.
Detectives and Evidence Technicians responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. Witnesses reported seeing two black male suspects leaving the area in a brown older model Toyota Camry. Initial information in this case indicates that the shooting was a targeted attack and we are working with law enforcement partners in the area to establish motive and identify suspects.
As we continue to investigate this case and look for any suspects, we want people to know this was not a random act and there is no current threat to the community.
This investigation remains active. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective LaShawn Tyler at 317-595-3313.
