Milestone Contractors, the contractor for the $18 million interchange improvement project at Exit 205, plans a left lane restriction Thursday night and a right lane restriction Friday night on northbound I-69 at the State Road 37 flyover. The restrictions for bridge beam painting are scheduled to begin after 8 p.m. and end by 5 a.m.
Rieth-Riley Construction, the contractor for the $11 million added lanes project between I-465 and 116th Street, plans alternating lane restrictions each night through October between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. on northbound and southbound I-69 between I-465 and 116th Street.
Rieth-Riley is constructing an additional southbound lane on I-69 between 116th Street and I-465 and auxiliary lanes connecting interchange ramps between 116th, 96th and 82nd streets. The added lanes are expected to be open to traffic this year.
Operation Indy Commute is an initiative to strategically eliminate recurring commuting bottlenecks on I-69 in Marion and Hamilton counties between I-465 and Exit 205. A separate project addressing congestion at the south side I-465 and I-65 interchange is expected to begin soon.
