The current I-69 road projects are coming along nicely and will hopefully improve traffic flow.
I am seeing articles discussing adding a interchange at 106th St. I understand why the town of Fishers would want this to help traffic flow and alleviate 116th congestion. However, living in south Hamilton county, myself and many residents currently use this corridor to avoid traffic and congestion. Having this exit will only take away this alternate route. It will add congestion to our neighborhoods. I don't think it will have the desired effect.
That being said, why when 126th was widened, wasn't a I-69/126th interchange added? Wouldn't this help traffic flow as well? Exactly were it is needed. Plus, this would put I-69 access closer to those on the NE side of Fishers.
Please address the problem where it exists and not add more congestion to south Hamilton County. We have enough already!

The Fall Creek Rd bridge crossing over the Geist Reservoir inbetween Landings Dr and Geist Rd has always made me a little nervous because there are places where if your car were to slide off the road, you'd go right into the reservoir. I'm not talking about the bridge itself, which already has guardrails. I mean on either side of the bridge there are openings. There are some little bushes or something there blocking the openings, but they wouldn't stop a car. Especially in light of the recent tragedy where a teenage girl's SUV slid into the reservoir, I hope this could be considered. For a small amount of money, this could save a life or lives. It might not be practical to cover every part of the reservoir, but at least major crossings like this could and should be protected. Thanks for your consideration.

The traffic light timing on 116th at Cumberland Road and the light at the entrance of Kroger recently changed. This change has made traffic on 116 heading east from I69 extremely heavy in the evening rush hour. We now have all the extra capacity from the dedicated exit lanes on I69 except the backup on 116 to Cumberland road has caused those lanes to back up for a half mile or more. Please consider revising the timing on the two traffic lights near Cumberland to alleviate the congestion on 116.

Along some areas of 116th the bike and walking path is directly adjacent to traffic lanes. I understand that this might be a necessity due to the ownership of the property (or the property still not being a part of Fishers), but it is a prime example of poor design.
When you have traffic traveling at 40-50+ MPH you need to provide an adequate setback for pedestrians and casual cyclists to feel safe. You can accomplish this with a large setback, installing a feature like trees or bollards between the pedestrian and traffic lanes, or providing space for parallel parking on the edge of the roadway.
Another safety spot is at all curb cuts, particularly into neighborhoods. By reducing the required radius of the curb cut the design would slow traffic slicing across the pedestrian trail while also decreasing the overall width of the intersection for pedestrians and bike riders.
116th has some great features, but let's make sure not to repeat the few mistakes in other locations.

The newly constructed on ramp is fine except you don't have enough time to merge without causing a safety hazard. The existing lanes coming from I 69 N. don't know traffic is merging ahead and they don't slow down. It's full of people slamming on breaks, and too short of a distance to give people entering the highway a chance to merge safely. It seems like there should have been plenty of room for the extra lane to allow influx of traffic before it comes to a sudden end. There should be signs alerting 69 N. traffickers to make room since they don't know to slow down when cars are entering the roadway at 30 or 40 mph. At minimum the lines should be repainted to give 50 or 100 more feet.

Only the Geist road has a stop sign so maybe 106th needs it too. I would like to see around about or something there but I don't think it will happen. Trees need to be cut along Geist road that are blocking the view for drivers going down 106th watching for drivers on Geist

It seems like the eye is reading people in the turn lane when no one is there - holding up south-bound traffic until all traffic moving north goes away.

With the grand opening for the new Fresh Market on 116th street the exit street sees a lot more traffic on a daily basis. With the usual medium to heavy traffic along 116th it's almost impossible to turn left from this shopping area onto 116th street (ending in the vehicle travelling East along 116th).
Currently the Kroger development across the road has a protected left turn arrow that would allow for a similar signal to be installed at this location for people leaving LA Fitness or Fresh Market.

I am constantly being tailgated and passed by speeding drivers while driving my son to and from school on Olio between 116th St. and 126th St. near HSE High School. I've even been passed in the no passing school zone on 126th St. east of Olio driving to Thorpe Creek Elementary. This is very dangerous for our children attending these schools. I believe adding additional school zone signs, including flashing and radar signs, would help in this situation. It's possible these speeding drivers simply do not see the school zone signs because there aren't very many of them and can be easily passed unnoticed. Please consider adding additional school zone signs in these areas. Thank you!

The current intersection at 96th Street and Cumberland / Mud Creek Road is in desperate need of an update. While a roundabout would probably work best in this location I'm not familiar with the legality or considerations of working on an intersection that's half in Hamilton County and half in Marion County. There's also at least one home (on the southeast corner) that sits close enough that it might prohibit a roundabout.
At the very least this intersection should be upgraded with a few dedicated turn lanes. Coming from the north (Cumberland) there needs to be a dedicated right turn lane. This partially exists now, but it needs to be repaved and potentially lengthened to allow cars to make it through the intersection. The same could be said for the opposite side of the intersection; Mud Creek could use a dedicated right turn lane.
This is going to become even more of a bottleneck in the near future as Pulte is building a new home development just to the north on Cumberland.

People can bring their own refillable containers but Fishers should prohibit the sale of MORE plastic bottles. Instead, Fishers can place water bottle filling stations in public areas, which are basically oversized drinking fountains. Go green!

Recently, the traffic lights along 116th & 96th Streets were changed and timed to (supposedly) improve traffic flow. I have found this to be further from the truth. I am sitting at more red lights, unable to move when there is absolutely nothing coming from other directions for at least a half mile o rmore. And while the lights stay green longer on the major roads, it's backing up traffic trying to enter from the side streets. Please, someone take a look at what's going on and fix this problem because it was better the old way, before it was "improved."

In some instances, the lights resembled oncoming cars in my lane. I know we can't rip them all out but the clear globes, bright intensity bulbs, and lower profile don't seem to be a very good choice. Just my two cents. ;)
