1. Where do I get alarm permits for home or business?

The City of Fishers maintains an alarm ordinance that requires homes and businesses with security/fire alarm systems to have an alarm permit application on file with the police department.  Submit alarm permit application.

2. I want to sell alcohol. Where do I get that permit?

You can obtain that permit through the Indiana State Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

3. Who do we notify if we are having a block party?

Yes, you need to submit a Special Event Permit Request. 

4. How do I obtain a building permit?

5. Do I need a dog license?

No, a dog license is not required. If you have further questions, please contact Hamilton County Information at 317- 776-9600.

6. I am opening a new business. Do I need a business license?

The City of Fishers does not require a business license. However, one may be required by the county or the state. Please check the Secretary of State’s office for state requirements and Hamilton County for county requirements. Most food service businesses require a Fishers Health Department certificate. 7. How do I get a contractor's license?

The City only requires contractor registration, not a license. No registration is required if you are acting as subcontractor. Register as a contractor.

8. Where can I get my Fishing/Hunting license?

These are issued by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. You can contact them at 317-573-4959.

9. Where can I get a food truck permit?

Apply for a Food Truck Permit through the Fishers Health Department.

10. Where can we get a marriage license?

The Hamilton County Clerk’s processes marriage applications. Learn more on their website or contact the Hamilton County Clerk at 317-776-9629.

11. Do I need a permit to solicit door-to-door?

Yes, please contact or visit the Fishers Police Department at 317-595-3300 or police@fishers.in.us.

12. Do I need a permit to work in the right-of-way, the road, or to install a driveway?

13. Where can I obtain a snowmobile license?

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources issues these, along with licenses for other off-road vehicles. Contact them at 317-573-4959.

14. Who issues telecomm permits?

15. I heard a rumor that I need a permit to plant a tree. Is it true?
